Released in August 2011 the Samsung Galaxy Xcover and the Motorola Defy Plus are great rivals. You can find the full review for the Samsung Galaxy Xcover here and for the Motorola Defy Plus here.

Dimension and built:

The Galaxy Xcover measures 121.5 x 65.9 x 12mm and weighs 100 grams and the Defy Plus measures 107 x 59 x 13.4mm and weighs 118 grams.

From what you can see the Defy Plus is more compact than the Xcover but it weighs more.

Display:

The Xcover has a 3.65 inches display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and pixels density of 158ppi. It supports multitouch and is protected by Gorilla Glass. The Defy Plus has a 3.7 inches display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and a pixel density of 265ppi. It also supports multitouch and is protected by Gorilla Glass.

So, the Defy Plus has a higher resolution and pixel density and a bigger screen than the Xcover.

Storage and memory:

The Galaxy Xcover has an internal storage of 150 Mb which can be extended up to 32 GB through a microSD card. It has an amount of RAM memory of 512 Mb.

The Defy Plus has an internal Storage of 2 GB which can be extended up to 32 GB through a microSD card. It has an amount of RAM memory of 512 Mb and it also has 1 GB of ROM.

Again the Defy Plus is over the Xcover and this time with the internal storage.

The Xcover has higher upload speeds over 3G data connections and newer Bluetooth version while the Defy Plus has DLNA. The Xcover has won this battle almost equal.

The Galaxy Xcover has a 3.15 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash which can shoot VGA videos while the Defy Plus has a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash which can record 480p videos at 30 fps.

Considering the camera sensor the Defy Plus has definitely won this battle.

The Galaxy Xcover has a 1500 mAh battery which can keep the phone on for about two days of normal use while the Defy Plus has a 1700 mAh battery which can keep it on for more than 3 days of normal use. So the Defy Plus wins again.
