Motorola Gleam review

Motorola Gleam

The Motorola Gleam is a stylish flip phone launched in May 2011. It has mini-SIM support. It measures 106 x 53 x 13.9mm and weighs 105 grams.

The main display has 2.4 inches and it’s TFT with 256k colors. It has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and a pixel density of 167ppi. Outdoor legibility is very good and the colors are crisp indoors. The secondary external display is based on LEDs and it displays icons.

The phone has a 3.5mm jack and supports MP3 and WAV files.  The internal storage has only 5 Mb but it can be extended up to 16 GB through a microSD card. The phonebook supports up to 800 entries.

At connectivity it has Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP + EDR and a microUSB v2.0 slot. Unfortunately it has only GPRS speed on the 2G data connection. The browser has HTML language support.

The camera has a 2MP sensor. The pictures resolution has 1600 x 1200 pixels and they aren’t impressive. The video recording is very poor too. The details from both pictures and video can be barely seen.

It comes in three different colors: black, red and white. It has stereo FM radio.

The 750 mAh battery offers a standby time of 500 hours and a talk time of six hours and 20 minutes. In a normal day by day use it can last over there days of use.
