Above the display we find the secondary camera for video-call and the proximity sensor which are placed on the either side of the ear piece speaker. Under the display it has six keys and the D-pad. On the right side it has the dedicated camera button with distinct half and full press. The left side is completely bare. At the bottom we can see the mouth piece. At the top it has the lanyard eyelet, the 2.5mm jack, the microUSB port and the charger plug.
The display has 2.2 inches and 16 million colors. It supports a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and a pixel density of 182ppi. The good sun light legibility is the best trump of the phone. The image quality is good and the brightness level is high but the contrast is unimpressive.
The 5MP camera has Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus and dual-LED flash. It has settings like panorama mode, multi shot, effects, scenes and others. The image quality is excellent for a 5MP camera; the contrast is good, the noise levels are good, the details are high and the colors are pleasing. The camera can shoot VGA video at 15 fps with poor quality. There is also a VGA secondary camera available.
At connectivity it has 2G EDGE speed up to 296 Kbps, 3G HSDPA sped up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2 Mbps, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and a microUSB v2.0 slot. It doesn’t have Wi-Fi but you can make a data plan and you will have good speeds on the web. The browser has Adobe Flash Lite supports; it works well but the screen is too small but it has text reflow.
The OS is Symbian v9.3 with the Nokia S60 3rd edition. The phone is powered by a 600 MHz ARM 11 processor. The internal storage has 45 Mb but it can be extended up to 16 GB through a microSD card. The amount of RAM memory is 128 MB.
There are six different colors available: aluminum, pink, petrol blue, red, lime and purple. The 6700 slide comes with a stereo FM radio with RDS.
The 860 mAh battery gives power to the phone for about four days of normal usage.
