LG Optimus Me review

LG Optimus Me

The LG Optimus Me is highly accessible. It is compact and it was designed for those who are using a smartphone for the first time. It offers a friendly user interface, extremely intuitive and it comes in five different colors: black, silver, blue, red and pink.

On the left side the phone has the microSD slot and on the right side it has the volme keys. The batter cover is made from plastic but at the first look it looks a bit like aluminum. Above the display it has the ear piece speaker and the proximity sensor. Below the screen it has four touch sensitive controls (menu, home, back and search) and below them it has two hardware buttons for calls (answer and hang).

About the camera I can say that it takes decent pictures for a 3MP sensor. It has geo-tagging and can record VGA videos at 30 fps. The camera user interface is minimalistic it is the stock Froyo UI.

The connectivity has 3G with HSDPA speed up to 3.6 Mbps, Wi-Fi with b/g/n protocols, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP + EDR and a microUSB 2.0 slot. The phone doesn’t have Adobe Flash support but the browser works fine if you don’t watch flash videos.

The Optimus Me has a Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset with a 600 MHz ARM11 processor. The GPU is Adreno 200 and the amount of RAM memory is 512 Mb. It has compass, accelerometer and proximity sensor. The internal memory has 140 Mb and you can expand the storage with a microSD up to 32 GB. It comes with a 2 GB included card.

The display has 2.8 inches. It is TFT and supports a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and a pixel density of 143ppi. It supports multitouch and it has good legibility outside but not in direct sun light. The phone measures 108 x 57.5 x 12.2mm and weighs 110 grams.

It has a 1280 mAh battery which is not to powerful. In talk time it gives autonomy of 3 and a half hours and in normal use it can keep the phone on for about 1 and a half day.

The phone has stereo FM radio with RDs, GSP with A-GPS supports, DivX/XviD support and a document viewer.

Overall the LG Optimus Me is a good budget smartphone for those who want to try the Android OS for the first time or they want to buy a smartphone for the first time. Check good deals for the Optimus Me and other phone at www.mobilephonedeals.com.
