The Bold 9790 is very sober. It has no glossy surfaces. On the left of the trackpad it has the answer call and home buttons and on the right the back and hang call buttons. Above the screen it has a status LED and the ear piece speaker. The left side of the phone we can see the 3.5mm jack and on the right side it has the volume keys and the camera shutter button. The glass from the screen is continued on the top of the phone where we find the power button. At the bottom it has a microUSB slot. The battery cover is made from plastic and covered by a soft rubber material.

The display measure 2.45 inches and supports a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels and a pixel density of 245ppi. It is a TFT type display and has 16 million colors. The phone has a hardware QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad. The whole phone measures 110 x 60 x 11.3mm and weighs 107 grams.

The Blackberry 7.0 OS powers the Marvel Tavor MG1 processor which is clocked at 1GHz. The phone has 768Mb of RAM and an 8GB internal storage. You can expand the storage up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The phone also has GPS with A-GPS support, document viewer and document editor and DviX/XviD support.

It comes in two different colors: black and white. The battery has 1230 mAh and offers to the phone 432 hours of standby time and 5 hours of talk time. It can play nonstop music for 33 hours.

At connectivity it has HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi dual band with a/b/g/n protocols, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP + EDR, NFC(depending on the carrier) and a microUSB 2.0 slot.
