The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is an evolved Xperia Mini. It packs many goodies inside but I’ll tell you about them later. If you aren’t decided between Xperia Arc and Xperia Mini you can choose the Xperia Ray because is something between them. Now check its main features:

It come comes with an 8MP camera but not an ordinary one. It has Exmor R sensor which helped by the LED flash makes very good pictures in low light conditions. Besides autofocus and LED flash other features that the camera has are: geo-tagging, face and smile detection, touch focus and image stabilization. It can shoot videos at 720p resolution and in low light conditions you can use the LED light. The videos made have good quality and the pictures taken are very bright, colorful and have good ISO balance.
Sony Ericsson planned a software update for the Xperia Ray to Android version 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich. Until the update it will stay with the 2.3 Gingerbread version customized with the Timescape UI. A Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset from Qualcomm is present and it comes with a 1 GHz Scorpion processor and with the Adreno 205 GPU. The amount of RAM memory is 512 Mb. Its internal storage has 1 GB with 300 Mb user available. The phone comes with a 4 GB microSD card but you can put an SD card up to 32 GB.
The Xperia Ray isn’t too big. It has 111x53x9.4mm and weighs just 100 grams. The display measures 3.3 inches and it has LED-backlit technology and BRAVIA Mobile Engine. It supports a resolution of 480×854 pixels (above average at a screen of its size) and has a pixel density of 297ppi (again above average at this size). The display is protected by a scratch resistant glass.
I will enumerate what the connectivity features are: 237 Kbps EDGE speed, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 5.8 Mbps HSUPA, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLNA, Wi-Fi with b/g/n standards, microUSB slot v2.0 and Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP + EDR. The browser is running well thanks to the Adobe Flash support.
The battery capacity is 1500 mAh. Using the phone’s primary features, calls and SMS, it can last up to 3 days and in a moderate use with all its functions it can stay on for about one and a half day.
